My name is Tracy Hughes, I am a Registered Nurse and I work for the SSM Health care transfer center in St Louis, Missouri, which is 2 hours from my home. While I am at work, I stay in an apartment there and away from my family.
Family is everything to me! So when I’m home, together is where I want to be! Our girls and their significant others are our entire world. We do almost everything together and I honestly love that they love hanging out with their parents! This year has been a hard year on so many people. We are incredibly grateful that our grown children live with us. They’ve been such a huge help this year with home improvements, yard work, putting up Christmas lights outside, planning dinners and everything in between.
We are currently planning a bachelorette party, wedding shower and wedding with our oldest daughter, Courtney and her Fiancé Andy. She’s a cryo skin consultant and a dance fitness instructor and Andy is an Accountant for one of the hospitals here. They are getting married this spring at Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas after being together 7 1/2 years.
Our youngest, Natalie just started a home based business making customized gifts, as well as a new job working in a physical therapy clinic and looking at going back to school to get a degree in physical therapy. Her boyfriend, Trevor got his realtor license during this crazy year and about to close on his first home! So much going on, so much crazy in the world today, it’s nice to come home to a cozy home with a fire in the fireplace, the Christmas lights on and the ones we love most gathered around the tree! It’s still the most wonderful time of the year!! But, here’s to 2021 and all the excitement it will bring this Hughes family!!
This year, my husband Mark and I also celebrated our 25th anniversary! He is my most grateful gift! He’s the reason I have my two greatest blessings! Once they all leave and live their own lives, it will be just him an me. He is my softest place to fall and I’m forever grateful for all he does for us!
He is a self employed Plumber and works extremely hard. So when we are both off we enjoy our time together. Our normal year would have been packed with concerts and sporting events. Since Covid has taken that away from us, we have poured our time and hearts into home projects, which is our happy place, so making it exactly the way we want it has been exactly what we needed to keep busy this year.
In normal times we would prefer to gather with our friends and supporters to socialize and raise a glass for good. Today, the world is adjusting to our new restrictions and we are coming up with creative ways to connect and still give back to the causes important to us. With the holiday season upon us, gifting wine and holding gatherings have a lot of people relying on wine delivery.
As always, giving back to great causes is very important to us. Our non-profit, Raising Our Daughters Foundation had to postpone our in-person fundraiser this year, so I am hoping to offer some help this holiday season by hosting a virtual wine tasting with ONEHOPE Wine and Gifts.
ONEHOPE Wine and Gifts are a cause-centric winery founded on the belief that doing good is good business. Through the sale of every bottle and gift, ONEHOPE has donated $5 million+ to causes around the world. Ten percent of all of the proceeds will go directly to www.rodfoundation.org.
